Shannon McGowan Honored at Bryan College

Shannon McGowan of Tulsa, OK, was one of 73 students recognized during Bryan College's 52nd annual Honors Day chapel April 23.

The Honors Day program rewards students for their academic achievement or contribution to the Bryan community. Awards include scholarships and cash gifts.

Shannon, daughter of Michael and Leslie McGowan, received the Outstanding Senior in History, presented for outstanding achievement in the major. She also won the Outstanding Senior in Politics and Government award for her accomplishments in that major. She received the Lion of Valor Award given to a male and female student-athlete who display excellence in their sport and Christ-like character.

Bryan is a Christian liberal arts college offering bachelor's degrees in 20 areas and Master's degrees in Business Administration and Christian Studies. The college has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report for 16 consecutive years as being among the Top Tier of Southern liberal arts colleges.
